Eleven teens, between the ages of 18 and 20, are due in Yorktown Town Court in August to answer charges that they had fake IDs while inside a bar, police said.
Yorktown police conducted a compliance check at Murphy’s Restaurant and Bar in Yorktown on July 18 as part of an ongoing effort to curb underage drinking, police said. The compliance check was partially funded by the Yorktown Alliance for Safe Kids.
The teens – 8 females and 3 males – were found in possession of forged drivers’ licenses, which falsely indicated they were over 21, police said.
They were all charged with third-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a misdemeanor. In addition, one of them – a 19-year-old Purdy’s woman – was charged with resisting arrest, a misdemeanor.
The teens, with hometowns ranging from Newburgh to New Windsor, Somers, Yorktown, Garrison, North Salem and Cortlandt Manor, were scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on Aug. 20.
