Youth Programs and Community Outreach
We’re often asked, “what do I do if …?” or “what happens if my kid …?”, and we do all we can to not only answer those questions, but to provide parents with information before they need the answers.
The Alliance offers programs that support our mission: to protect our kids from destructive behavior, including substance abuse, gangs, and gambling. You’ll notice that while we do have programs for and by teens, other programs are focused on parents. From meetings to discuss what’s happening in our community, to focus groups helping to fine-tune our programs, vendor training (training sellers in how to refuse alcohol sales to minors), speakers programs sharing the latest information on trends and behaviors impacting our kids, and a program (Adopt A Store) that brings parents and kids into local businesses to thank them for their efforts to protect our kids, the Alliance is working toward a vision: a community that – by everyone working together – has become a safety net for our families.
If we can help to prevent another car accident, another overdose, another arrest involving our kids, we’ll have done our job.
